Her Story

This client is the owner of an embroidery company. She wanted to bring her love for embroidery into her home’s living space. She also told me from the outset that she had her eye on an emerald green lacquered chest. This color choice would set the tone for her home. She was pregnant at the time so really wanted to have someone that could manage all of the interior design details and oversee some of the remodeling details. The furniture would need to be child-friendly. Lastly, she had a collection of Foo Dogs - guardian lions - left to her by her grandmother, that she wanted to include in the living room somehow.

Navy and Emerald Entry and Dining Room

The bold statement of the emerald green lacquered chest sets the tone. It’s the first thing you see after you enter through the bright coral door. Splashes of coral accents and geometric patterns make equally bold statements, creating a bright, colorful entry and dining room.

Cheerful Living Room

This room is filled with embroidery! The chairs, draperies, and pillows are all upholstered with embroidered fabrics selected especially for the client. The blue from the dining room was carried over into the living room. The Foo Dogs from the client’s grandmother found homes on the mantle and display shelves, and the bright white sofa is kept safe from kids and spills by a stain-protected fabric upholstery.

Gina is wonderful; she helped me decorate my new home while undergoing a renovation and expecting a baby! I had never worked with a designer before and did not know what to expect. I truly felt she went above and beyond. She was very professional and was sure to completely understand my style before ordering anything. I also really appreciated that she sourced great pieces from many different vendors and did everything within budget. I will definitely work with her again and have highly recommended to others.
